Francis Ford Coppola Winery has released its Diamond Collection white wines in cans in the US.

The launch covers the new premium Diamond Collection whites – Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc.

This move will help the company to bolster its position as a leading premium wine producer in the canned category.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery president and winemaking director Corey Beck said: "It was Francis's instinct and creativity that first brought wine-in-a-can to the forefront of the wine industry with the introduction of the Sofia Mini cans more than a decade ago.

"New premium Diamond Collection whites Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc were also introduced to the market."

"For a category that's accelerated so rapidly over the years, consumers are still loyal to the Coppola brands they trust and admire, because they know we will deliver the same premium quality, consistency, and authenticity they know and love in a bottle, into a can."

In 2002, the winery began producing canned wine and two years later, it launched Sofia Minis in 187ml mini aluminum cans.

Over the years, canned wine has grown rapidly due to its convenience and portability.

The 250ml cans of Diamond Collection white wines are available in a portable and lightweight four-pack that is environmentally friendly and recyclable. These cans carry a suggested retail price (SRP) of $19.99.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery is owned by The Family Coppola, which is based in Sonoma County, California.
