US-based producer of pancakes and muffins FlapJacked has launched its protein smoothie mix.

FlapJacked Protein Smoothie Mix is claimed to be the first high-protein smoothie mix with a shelf-stable Greek yogurt base.

With the addition of milk, this product offers consumers an easy-to-make option to prepare smoothie without the use of a blender.

FlapJacked co-founder Jennifer Bacon said: "We're thrilled to announce the release of FlapJacked Protein Smoothie Mix.

"The combination of authentic Greek Yogurt with 20g of whey protein isolate plus Ganeden's heat-resistant probiotics? We believe this creates an exciting new breakfast option for kids, adults, athletes, weight-conscious consumers, the elderly and much, much more."

Currently, FlapJacked Protein Smoothie Mix is available in three flavours, which are milk chocolate, strawberry banana and vanilla bean.

"We believe this creates an exciting new breakfast option for kids, adults, athletes, weight-conscious consumers, and the elderly."

The company claimed that each of its mix contains 20g of protein per serving, real Greek yogurt for a richer and creamier texture, omega 3s, and super foods such as acai, flax and green coffee bean extract.

The mix is gluten-free, does not have GMO ingredients and is targeted at health and eco-conscious consumers.

FlapJacked intends to extend the smoothie lineup further with the launch of protein-packed, macro-friendly version next month.

Established in 2012, FlapJacked has been offering pancakes and muffins mixes that are easy to prepare. Its products are available across 12,000 stores of Kroger, GNC, and Vitamin Shoppe in the US.
