France-based Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (MBWS) has announced that director Laurence Dequatre has stepped down from the board.

Dequatre was the representative for DF Holding, Castel's holding company.

In 2015, DF Holding acquired a 5.66% interest in Marie Brizard, which was called Belvedere until 2014. This recent move follows DF Holding’s decision to end a deal with Morocco-based Diana Holding for its initial stake purchase.

"[MBWS] take this opportunity to thank Laurence Dequatre for her strategic and operational contributions to the transformation of the group."

Dequatre's seat will be assumed by shareholder The Compagnie Financière Européenne de Prises de Participation.

MBWS stated: "The board of directors and management of Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits take this opportunity to thank Laurence Dequatre for her strategic and operational contributions to the transformation of the group, and for her role in returning the company to a path of profitable and sustainable growth.”

MBWS produces and sells a range of wine and spirits primarily in Europe and the US. The company has a portfolio of brands including William Peel scotch whisky, Krupnik vodka, Sobieski vodka, Fruits and Wine flavored wine, Marie Brizard liqueurs, and Cognac Gautier.
