Philippines-based alcoholic beverage maker Bleeding Heart Rum Company (BHRC) has launched new Don Papa Rum in the US market.

Don Papa is light and fruity, with notes of vanilla, honey, and candied fruits.

Don Papa's founder Stephen Carroll said: "'The Don' is not for the feeble-hearted, it is for those who have a burning desire to do things differently, experience life's greatest pleasures, have an appetite for adventure, and have an undeterred, generous spirit.

"The US is ready for a ground-breaking luxury spirit that embodies their passions in a bottle. They are ready for Don Papa Rum."

Starting from May this year, the rum will be initially available in selected stores in New York and Boston, followed by other fine spirits retailers across the US in a 750ml bottle.

Prior to this launch, Don Papa Rum was introduced in European and Asian markets.

The company claims that the product has been made using traditional style Filipino rum making and offers a new taste for rum drinkers, brown spirit aficionados, and newcomers to the spirit category.

Don Papa has been distilled from sugar cane and aged up to seven years in oak barrels in the foothills of Mount Kanlaon.
