US-based cider maker Argus Cidery has launched new offerings Ciderkin and Ginger Perry in beverage cans provided by packaging firm Ardagh.

Bottled in 12oz cans, the ciders are created using a fermentation process, which extracts the flavours of each individual fruit.

Argus Cider claims to have selected Ardagh beverage cans to allow customers to enjoy its beverages both indoors and outdoors, including in parks, on golf courses, and at the beach.

Argus Cidery's owner Jeff Mickel said: "Lightweight cans enable us to ship efficiently, nationally, and minimise our carbon footprint.

"It's just the beginning. We're excited about spreading our distribution reach and enabling consumers across the country to enjoy our products."

Ardagh's metal North America beverage chief executive officer Claude Marbach said: "We remain excited about the further growth potential in craft cider as more variety is brought to retail and beverage cans are chosen as a means to efficiently reach new markets."
