Angry Orchard has released Angry Orchard Pear, a fruit cider made with apples and pears.

The company explained that its new product is a blend of pear brands including Bartlett, D'Anjou, and Bosc, as well as apple brands Gala, Fuji, Golden Delicious, and Granny Smith.

It offers the mellow sweetness of pear with crisp apple flavours for a smooth mouthfeel and dry finish.

Angry Orchard head cider maker Ryan Burk said: "Our new Pear hard cider is a style that reaches beyond just apples. We found great harmony and interplay between the pear and apple fruit varieties, ultimately delivering a crisp, fruit forward taste."

"With 5% alcohol by volume (ABV) Angry Orchard Pear will be available across the country in six-packs."

The company claims that its new gluten-free cider product has been produced using pears and apples grown in the US. With 5% alcohol by volume (ABV) Angry Orchard Pear will be available across the country in six-packs for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $7.99-9.99 (varies per market).

Angry Orchard further noted that its pear product is the result of its cider research and development (R&D) centre in New York's Hudson River Valley, which researched and developed the new recipe.

For more than two decades, Angry Orchard has been experimenting with apple varieties and flavours to develop hard cider recipes.
