Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has acquired Australian craft brewer 4 Pines through its New York-based ZX Ventures for an undisclosed price.

AB InBev is reported to have acquired a complete stake in the Australian company to enhance its production capacity and expand its brand presence worldwide.

"The acquisition will further strengthen AB InBev in Australia, where it already owns Melbourne-based Carlton & United Breweries."

Based in New South Wales (NSW), 4 Pines operates four venues in the Sydney area and breweries in Brookvale and Manly, which produce extra special strong bitter (ESB) pale ale Kolsch, stout, and hefeweizen.

The acquisition will further strengthen AB InBev in Australia, where it already owns Melbourne-based Carlton & United Breweries.

In 2015, AB InBev is reported to have made a number of acquisitions through its venture ZX, which included breweries and other beer-related concerns in the US, Spain, Belgium, Italy, China, Brazil, Colombia, and the UK.
