M&As this week: Olvi Oyj, Delta Corp, Refresco

Delta Corp has completed an acquisition of Zambia-based beverage producer National Breweries for an undisclosed sum.

Based in India, Delta Corp is a provider of electronic and online casino gaming services.

National Breweries is a subsidiary of Heinrich’s Syndicate.

Olvi Oyj has entered an agreement with Momentin Group to acquire an 80% stake in Servaali for €15.8m ($19.64m).

Olvi plans to acquire the remaining 20% stake in Servaali in the future.

Scheduled for completion on 30 June 2018, the acquisition will allow Olvi to expand its product range to wines and fortify its presence in mild alcoholic beverages.

Upon completion of the deal, Servaali will operate as a separate entity within Olvi.

Olvi Oyj manufactures beverages, while Servaali Oy is a wholesaler of alcoholic beverages. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in Finland.

Refresco has acquired Cott’s traditional beverage manufacturing business for a cash consideration of $1.25bn.

The transaction enables Refresco to increase its production capacity to approximately 12 billion litres a year.

Refresco and Cott will operate as separate entities in the UK until the sale of Refresco’s aseptic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) facility is complete.

The acquisition has increased Refresco’s manufacturing sites to 22 in the US, four in Canada and one in Mexico. The company will also operate 26 sites in Europe and six in the UK as a result of the acquisition.

BevSource has completed the acquisition of MyDrink Beverages for an undisclosed sum.

BevSource and MyDrink Beverages plan to offer manufacturing and consulting services to beverage companies in Europe.

BevSource is a US-based firm offering beverage development services and operations solutions for its customers.

Based in Lithuania, MyDrink Beverages is engaged in the development and marketing of beverages.

The transaction enables BevSource to expand its customer base and product portfolio.
